Beep Test VO2Max Formula
Where
- $$L$$ is the level completed
- $$SN$$ is the number of shuttles completed at that level
- Result is in $$\text{ml/kg/min}$$
The Beep Test, or Bleep Test, measures cardiovascular fitness and endurance. Participants run back and forth across a 20-meter distance, synchronizing with audio beeps. As levels increase (up to 21), time between beeps shortens, making the test progressively harder. Once two consecutive shuttles are missed, the final level and shuttle count are used in the VO2Max formula. The result is compared against age- and gender-specific norms to assess aerobic capacity, ranging from “Very Poor” to “Excellent”.
Give the reference link please
Having a formula, providing a calculator and explaining through an example are all great. But some of us are interested in references. After all, there are so many “vo2Max calculators” available, each providing a different value for the same Level.Shuttle score. It would be fantastic if you could add support for your formula in the form of links to accessible peer-reviewed papers.
