Kinematic Equations Solver

Calculate any missing variable in uniformly accelerated motion. Enter the known values and select which variable to solve for — initial velocity, final velocity, acceleration, time, or displacement — and get instant results using the SUVAT equations.

Kinematic Equations (SUVAT)

Formula
$$ v = u + at $$ $$ s = ut + \frac{1}{2}at^2 $$ $$ v^2 = u^2 + 2as $$

Where:

  • $$u$$ = initial velocity
  • $$v$$ = final velocity
  • $$a$$ = acceleration
  • $$t$$ = time
  • $$s$$ = displacement

These equations describe motion with constant acceleration. Any one variable can be found when the other three are known.

Kinematic Equations – Worked Example

Given: Initial velocity $$u$$ = 10 m/s, acceleration $$a$$ = 4 m/s², time $$t$$ = 5 s
Find: Final velocity $$v$$

Using $$v = u + at$$:
$$v = 10 + 4 \times 5 = 30 \text{ m/s}$$

Result: Final velocity = 30 m/s

This solver is essential for physics students, engineers, and anyone analyzing motion under constant acceleration. It handles unit conversions automatically and applies the correct equation based on your selected unknown.
