Tablet Dose Calculation Formula

Formula
$$\text{Dose in tablets} = \frac{\text{Dose Ordered (DO)}}{\text{Dose Available (DA)}}$$

Where:

  • DO = Prescribed dose for the patient
  • DA = Available dose per tablet

This formula provides the number of tablets required per dose.

This calculator is commonly used in hospital and pharmacy environments to prevent underdosing or overdosing. For example, if a doctor prescribes 500 mg of a drug and each tablet contains 250 mg, the calculator will indicate that 2 tablets should be given. It simplifies quick decision-making in clinical workflows.
