Pregnancy BMI and Weekly Weight Gain Formula
Recommended weight gain ranges per week in 2nd and 3rd trimesters (based on BMI category):
- Underweight (BMI < 18.5): 0.44 – 0.58 kg/week
- Normal weight (BMI 18.5–24.9): 0.35 – 0.50 kg/week
- Overweight (BMI 25–29.9): 0.23 – 0.33 kg/week
- Obese (BMI ≥ 30): 0.17 – 0.27 kg/week
