Body Mass For Men

This calculator estimates your body fat percentage and lean body mass using the Jackson-Pollock 7-point skinfold method. It requires age, weight, and seven skinfold measurements for a detailed body composition analysis. While accurate for most, it may underestimate fat in extremely lean bodybuilders.

Jackson-Pollock 7-Site Body Fat Formula (Men)

Formula
$$\text{Body Density} = 1.112 – 0.00043499 \cdot S + 0.00000055 \cdot S^2 – 0.00028826 \cdot A$$ $$\text{Body Fat \%} = \left( \frac{495}{\text{Body Density}} \right) – 450$$

Where:

  • $$S$$ = sum of 7 skinfolds (mm)
  • $$A$$ = age (years)

The Jackson-Pollock 7-point method uses caliper readings from seven body parts: chest, abdominal, thigh, triceps, subscapular, suprailiac, and midaxillary.

  • It provides a detailed estimate of body fat % and lean body mass.
  • Results may vary depending on measurement accuracy and body type.
  • Lean body mass is calculated by subtracting fat mass from total body weight.
