Jackson-Pollock 7-Site Body Fat Formula (Women)

Formula
$$\text{Body Density} = 1.097 – 0.00046971 \cdot S + 0.00000056 \cdot S^2 – 0.00012828 \cdot A$$ $$\text{Body Fat \%} = \left( \frac{495}{\text{Body Density}} \right) – 450$$

Where:

  • $$S$$ = sum of 7 skinfolds (mm)
  • $$A$$ = age (years)

The Jackson-Pollock 7-point method for women uses caliper readings from the following areas: triceps, suprailiac, thigh, chest, midaxillary, subscapular, and abdominal.
It estimates:

  • Body Fat Percentage
  • Lean Body Mass (total weight minus fat mass)

This method is popular in fitness and health assessments and gives a solid estimate of body composition when measurements are performed correctly.
